Parasitism: 1 benefits, other does not
- Country/ Captor forces Prisoner to Do Harsh Labor
- the prisoner could experience weakness from the labor and temperatures throughout the body in comparison to the amount of food and water that is within the prisoner's body. Also, the country that this prisoner is working for is benefited for the country and possibly mentally. Mentally because the Captor may then feel superior and stronger than the "weak" prisoner.
- Captor/ Nazi/ Guard Beats or Torments a Prisoner
- the Prisoner is becoming more weak and getting closer to deaths door while the beater/ captor, is gaining strength from work and the fact that he is making his enemy weaker. In the captor's mind by making the prisoner/ enemy weak, he is benefiting his country and himself by making him seem more superior.
- Prisoner Stands up to a Captor
- the prisoner is showing courage and strength even when his body is weak, making him look more mentally strong than the captor. The captor could also grow more weary of this prisoner. Yet the Prisoner could also be beaten for showing "disrespect" in the eyes of the captor. So, this one can go both ways.
- Captors Commit a War Crime by Mistreatment Towards the Prisoners of War
- the captors may have tortured the prisoners that were held captive, and according to the Geneva Convention, that is no longer allowed. Also, according to the Geneva Convention, it would be considered a war crime if a prisoner was mistreated brutally. So this way the prisoners get justice and the captors pay a fee. This could also be considered commensalism because maybe the prisoners don't need justice or want it in that matter.
Mutualism: both benefit
- Prisoner Works for Food and Water
- The country the Prisoner is doing labor for is benefited because the prisoner is doing their rough work, and the prisoner is benefited because he is provided with the resources he needs for survival.
Commensalism: 1 is benefited, other is not effected
- Prisoners are released from imprisonment
- The country and captors that held these prisoners are not effected, but the prisoners are able to finally go home without harm and punishment so they are greatly benefited from the end of the war.
Predation: 1 is benefited, other is eliminated
- Captors kill the Prisoners
- Captors are benefited because they feel stronger about themselves, but the Prisoner is harmed because they are killed and/or eliminated.
